Today I tried to do some add some sprints to my run. Boy, that was tough! Somehow I was quite exhausted from my ‘warm-up’, so the sprints weren’t as fast as I hoped. But it still went ok.

The Stats:

  • Distance: 2.8 miles (4,5 km)
  • Time: 30:00 minutes
  • Average pace: 10:42 min/mile
  • Feeling: Exhausted

Great pace! Well, great for me, at least. Let’s see how fast I can get until race day. Wheee!

PIPES Challenge Update
"

It’s already the fifth week of the challenge. Yesterday I did the next exhaustion test, and could only do 26 full pushups. This means that I won’t advance to week five of the program, instead I’ll go back to week three, but this time I’ll do column three, not one. I’m actually not disappointed at all, as I’ve already come further than I had expected at the beginning. My arms look awesome already!

See you!

Is it just me or was March just passing by at light speed?! It was a busy but good month, I accomplished a lot and made some great progress. Last month I had my first run with an average pace of under 11:00 min/mile!

Running

  • 9 times
  • Total distance: 26.2 miles (42,16 km)
  • Total time: 4:56:05

Other workouts:

  • 3 Pilates sessions (3 hours)
  • 1 elliptical workout (30 minutes)
  • 1 bike ride (13 miles in 80 minutes)

Look, I ran a marathon! I didn’t plan this, I swear. Ok, it took me an entire month, but I’m still proud of it. And I’ve had my first bike ride this year. Looking forward to many more, as I really love biking.

I’ve also been doing the 100 pushups program. The first two weeks went really well and I’m already a lot stronger than when I started. Awesome!

This month I want to increase my mileage again, adding some longer runs. And I’ll continue the pushups program, let’s see how many I can do at the end of April.

See you!

Oh my, February is already over, Spring is approaching (yeah!), and it’s time for another workout recap.

Running

  • 9 times
  • Total distance: 24.55 miles (39,5 km)
  • Total time: 4:48:20

Other workouts:

  • 3 Pilates sessions (3 hours)
  • 1 strength workout (25 minutes)

I must say, I’m quite pleased with this. I probably should increase my strength training, but at least I’m making some progress with running. Finally!

If the mild temperatures stay around, I’ll try to get in more outdoor runs. They’re so much more fun than the muggy gym and the boring treadmill.

See you!

I’m a bit late with my January workout recap, sorry about that! So without further ado, here are the stats:

Running

  • 6 times
  • Total distance: 14.92 miles (24,0 km)
  • Total time: 3:00:20

Not as much as I had planned, but considering that I had the flu and was unable to breath properly for more than a week, I’m fine with it.

My other workouts:

  • 2 Pilates sessions (2 hours)
  • 1 strength workout (25 minutes)

Oh well, also not much. I’m still neglecting my strength training. But at the moment running is the most important for me. Maybe I will change my mind in a few months. We’ll see.

Have a great week!

I’m back! I did survive the transition to 2011. We spent New Year’s Eve with some friends, great food, champagne, wine, and lots of other great stuff. Don’t worry, I didn’t have a hangover, but I was really tired and lazy on New Year’s Day … and also the rest of the weekend. That’s what you get for staying up until 5 am. Uh, well. Today my vacation was over and I had to return to my desk job.

Now that December is over, it’s time to recap my workouts:

Running

  • 8 times
  • Total distance: 18.46 miles (29,7 km)
  • Total time: 3:59:27

A little bit more than in November, but still not as much as I’d like. I’ll work on it in January. It’s time to get serious!

There were other workouts, too:

  • 2 Pilates sessions (2 hours)
  • 1 Yoga session (35 minutes)
  • 1 strength workout (25 minutes)

I’ve been neglecting strength training last month. It’s one of my goals for January (and the rest of the year) to include more strength workouts. I already did one yesterday! And now my legs are so sore. I hope I’ll be able to get in my planned run tomorrow. I will definitely try!

See you!
